George's journey: A journey from Romania to the Netherlands
Meet George, a 33-year-old electrotechnical technician who, in 2018, made the move from Romania to the Netherlands. George works for TPS as an industrial electrician, where he has gained valuable experience working on a variety of projects for different clients. Currently, since the beginning of this year, he is working on shipyard projects for our client Werkina, installing all common electrical equipment on board of all types of ships.
Working for TPS in the Netherlands
As part of his role at TPS, George often finds himself working in different sites around our beautiful country. And he has been doing so already for more than 5 years. George came to TPS in May 2018, due to the fact that a cherished friend of his was already working for TPS and recommended TPS to him. At the time, Willem, currently TPS' manager Sales & Marketing, hired George. Back then, TPS had a small office in the city centre of Breda. His start in the Netherlands went smooth, and in the event of any difficulties, he could always ask TPS office employees for help. George also appreciates the housing visits of the TPS recruitment staff. It's always good to have a company representative avialable on a regular base to talk to, with the purpose to make sure everything goes allright.
Why choose TPS?
For George it's very important that his salary is paid every week and on time. Also he likes the fact that TPS has a close and open approach to employees and health insurance and accommodation issues are dealth with accordingly. He never experienced any issues with the salary payments, neither with the accomodation or company car transportation to and from his projects.
What are your future plans?
I am planning to work for at least two more years for TPS in the Netherlands. But eventually I want to go back to Romania, where I have my family and the love of my life. I am almost done with building my own house and I hope by then it will be finished. Without my contract with TPS, building my own house would have been a lot more difficult.
What kind of advice would you give to employees that just started their first TPS contract?
I always had a good focus on my work and tried the best I could to keep a good relationship with my colleagues and housemates. Also it's very important to have fun and enjoy the time together.
